In 1973, the Clan Motor Company went racing, going wheel-to-wheel with Lotus in ModSports. Watch the film and celebrate Johnny Blades’ inspiring story with this original t-shirt design.
When the Clan Crusader lined up on the grid for its debut as a works racing car in 1973, it was flanked by the Ginetta G15 – the car which had dominated the upto 1150cc class in 1972, and the Davrian – the only car that could possibly rival the Clan for outright performance.
But Whitley Bay tailor, Johnny Blades and the translucent factory-backed Heron Furniture Clan would have bigger ideas. Clan would take the fight to Lotus on the race track and take the Northern Mod Sports title, before both Blades and Clan would bow out in a blaze of glory.
Watch this inspiring story in a new feature-length documentary, HERE then celebrate with the original ‘Blades Clan’ t-shirt.
