CLAN – The Story of the Works Race and Rally Clan Crusaders is a brand new DVD, featuring two documentaries plus special features.
The Clan’s Crusader tells the story of how the relatively unknown Clan Crusader, built in North East England, exploded on to the motorsport scene with a stunning 2nd place on the Manx Rally behind Roger Clark’s Escort, before taking victory on the iconic Tour of Mull in 1972.
(Run time approx 7 minutes)
Blades of Glory follows on in 1973, a feature-length documentary telling the story of flamboyant Whitley Bay tailor and Formula 2 driver Johnny Blades, who took the Clan on one final world tour, taking the spectacular Mod Sports racing series by storm.
(Run time approx 25 minutes)
Both documentaries are written and presented by Paul Woodford and feature previously unseen imagery from the Clan Motor Company’s short-lived works race and rally campaigns.
An experienced motorsport writer and presenter, Paul Woodford is the owner of a 1972 Clan Crusader, a member of the Clan Owner’s Club and Clan Registrar for the Imp Club – the definitive owner’s club for owners and enthusiasts of the Hillman Imp and its drivetrain derivatives.
This DVD is the perfect addition to any motorsport DVD Collection, race and rally enthusiasts will be captivated by this previously untold story of the Clan’s motorsport achievements.
